8 Ways to Keep Your Homebased Business Running Smoothly

Leaving corporate America to run a home based business is the ideal situation for many people: There's no boss breathing down your neck, no boring meetings to attend and no 45-minute drives in rush hour traffic. Working from home can be a rewarding experience, but it's easy to forget the basic rules of running a successful business when it's 10 hours of just you, your computer and the distractions of home.
  • Structure your day. The problem a lot of home based business owners have is that they no longer have a boss standing over them making sure they get their work done, or a tangible start and end of each workday. It's easy to let time slip by as you head to the refrigerator, catch a few minutes of TV, or dive into a project first thing in the morning, neglecting the other tasks you need to perform to keep your business running smoothly.
Create a structure that mimics what you had in the workplace. Structure your day so you have a start and finish time, with certain hours set aside for specific activities. A general rule is to spend the first hour of the day prospecting for new clients. Send your emails, write your letters and make your phone calls first thing so you don't forget to do it later.
Use Outlook or some sort of contact management software to serve as a visual reminder of what you need to accomplish that day. Live and die by your to-do-list. Try to have everything crossed off by the end of the day. Even my own children know that if they want me to do something for them during working hours, they have to put it on my to-do-list or it will never get done.
  • Stay connected. Carry an organizer wherever you go. If you're still using a day planner or similar dinosaur, consider upgrading to a Blackberry or other high-tech gadget. You don't need to go crazy and spend a lot of money, but invest wisely in something that will hold everything you need and allow you to instantly access it on the go. Another good idea is to not keep all of your information in one location, such as the hard drive of your home computer. Keep your data hosted on a virtual exchange server so you can access it anywhere that has an Internet connection. A big misconception about home based business owners is that they stay at home all day, everyday. And as you know, that's just not always true.
  • Organize your family time. Once your professional life is organized, you may need to consider organizing your personal life. Maybe you noticed right away, or maybe it's just becoming apparent, that you tend to work around the schedule of your family members. This is especially true if you have children. A lot of people, especially young moms, decide that they're going to quit their jobs in corporate America and work from home in order to care for their children and save on daycare expenses. But in reality, if you're serious about running a home based business and earning a decent income, you're going to have to make arrangements for childcare in or outside the home. Otherwise it becomes too distracting. Consider hiring a babysitter so you're guaranteed five to six solid hours to get your work done.
  • Motivate yourself. Sit down and set some goals for yourself. You no longer have quarterly reviews or progress reports, so it's important to keep track of whether or not you're making progress in your business. It's one thing to set small goals like completing your to-do-list--you also have to set goals to motivate yourself to succeed. Hopefully by now you're making as much, if not more, money at your home based business than you were at your former job. If you aren't, begin by setting a goal to bring in the same amount of income you were, and slowly raise the bar to increase your income by a couple of thousand a month. Once you've met a goal, make time to reward yourself by doing something fun, which brings us to the next tip.
  • Take time out for good behavior. It's not uncommon to find yourself working 60- to 70-hour weeks. But the good thing is, if you want to sneak out and see a movie at two in the afternoon, nobody's going to tell you not to do it. You have that freedom and flexibility as a home business owner. It can be tempting to work all the time when you start seeing how successful your business has become, but know when to relax. You've already established a smooth-running business. Take a break every now and then so you don't get burned out.
  • Be a Jack-of-all-trades. There are a lot of roles you play as a home based business owner: You're the CEO, president, secretary, office manager and tech support. Learn the basic skills of running an office, including how to troubleshoot some rudimentary technical problems. You don't need to become an expert, but make sure you have a basic understanding of tech support issues, bookkeeping, etc. Otherwise it will become too expensive to have to pay someone to do everything for you.
  • Network. Network with other home based business owners in either a formal or informal setting. This is a good way to find service providers, leads and potential clients. Surrounding yourself with people who also work from home will give you the support you need, and refer you to people who can help you grow your business.
  • Consider moving out of your home. For a lot of people, working from home is a launching pad. In the beginning, many business owners work from home in order to keep overhead low. If you have more than one person with different roles working from your home office, you should ideally be working in separate rooms. It can be difficult having two people work side by side, even if those two people are spouses and love each other very much. It's distracting for anyone to have someone three feet away from you talking on the phone. Be prepared for expansion. At the point when your business becomes so successful that you cannot efficiently work close together, start considering moving your office outside the home.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Learn more>> Click here

3 Ways To Overcome Failure In Sales

Many people who dislike sales have this opinion because of the fear of rejection. And while failure is a part of every job, in sales you typically have more failure than success. You must be brave to be on the front lines and sell. This requires a positive attitude, confidence, and a great deal of practice. The best salespeople never give up once they fail. Instead, they become stronger and even more determined. To learn how to deal with adversity in this way, there are a couple of strategies that I’ve used. Next time you’re feeling down about a sale and you need to raise your spirits, try using these tactics.

1. Write down what you learned from each failure

When a client turns us down, the real damage comes from ignoring the situation. We try to brush it off, but that only makes us think about it more. The more we replay the bad part of the sale, the more we start feeling the depressed emotion we had when they said no. This creates a lasting effect that can damage how we go into our remaining sales the rest of the day or even longer.
To avoid this, as soon as you get rejected, grab a piece of paper and write down what you could’ve done better. Remember, it is never fair to blame the client for why you couldn’t close them. At some point or the other, that customer is going to buy from someone. You just weren’t able to prove the value to get their business.
By immediately writing down what you’re learning from each sale, you benefit in many ways . The first way is you don’t try to ignore the problem. By looking at every failure as an opportunity to grow, you’ll think of failing much differently. Also, you’re making the most of your time. Treating failed sales as a waste of time has damaging effects on the improvement of your skills. Failure is a great way to learn, as long as you take the time to explore why you failed.
Finally, by paying more attention to the tactics you used than on your emotions, you don’t dwell on negativity. You’re learning and figuring out what works best, and there’s no need to get down on yourself for not closing a customer. Focus more on which techniques can be improved rather than the disappointment you feel when you lose a sale.

2. Celebrate the failure

For short period of time, I was scared to drive to meetings and pitch prospects the Enagic Product & Business without calling first. I had no problem hitting the phones, but something about being rejected face-to-face in the first meeting was tough for me. Thinking about it, I knew that I would never be good Enagic sales unless I could overcome the fear of meeting prospects in person. To help me deal with this, I started celebrating when I would get turned down by prospects. I would call my up line and tell him what happened and laugh about it. When cold calling, every time I got hung up on, I would walk and give someone a high five in my office. Taking it even further, I would share stories about the worst prospects I had that day and laugh about it with the rest of my team. It’s not that getting turned down didn’t hurt; it was just that my mentality towards it became different. It actually became fun talking about how some clients were rude or ran away from me when I visited them. Now, I have no problem dropping by prospects at home or at their office's and prefer that method to phone cold calling.
If you are overthinking your failures, start celebrating them with the team. Obviously, you should never try to mess up a sale, but as soon as they happen, you can treat them like a victory. This one small change will improve your courage and you’ll be willing to do much more to close a deal.

3. Overfill your leads funnel

One of my worst nightmares would be to go an entire day without a sales meeting. Not only would that hurt my numbers, but it also would heighten the disappointment I would get from failed sales. This is because as long as I have too many clients to deal with, I never have time to dwell in failure.
An undervalued skill in sales is the ability to have consistency. When you hear someone who has a smooth tongue and a big smile, it’s easy to think that they would be a great salesperson. In reality, I’ve learned that a much more valuable trait is the ability to focus on creating new sales every day. That’s not to say that sales skills aren’t important. But what helps the best sellers keep their energy up is their ability to focus on overflowing their leads. When this happens, you have no time to think about a failed sale because you’re already on your way to the next one.

How Is Our Tap Water Regulated?

It's regulated by different agencies, with different missions. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency oversees the quality of water that comes out of your tap, while the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is responsible for ensuring the safety and truthful labeling of bottled water sold nationally. States are responsible for regulating water that is both packaged and sold within its borders (which is most of the bottled-water market), but one in five states doesn't even bother.
It's important to note that the federal government does not require bottled water to be safer than tap. In fact, just the opposite is true in many cases. Tap water in most big cities must be disinfected, filtered to remove pathogens, and tested for cryptosporidium and giardia viruses. Bottled water does not have to be.
Both kinds of water are tested regularly for bacteria and most synthetic organic chemicals, but city tap is typically assessed much more frequently. For example, bottled-water plants must test for coli-form bacteria just once a week; city tap needs to be tested 100 or more times a month.
Limits on chemical pollution for both categories are almost identical. The one place where bottled water might have the edge is in the case of lead; because many older homes have lead pipes, the EPA standard for tap water is less strict—one-third of the FDA's standard for lead in bottled water.

OK—but which type of water is actually safer?

In 1999, after a four-year review of the bottled-water industry and its safety standards, NRDC concluded that there is no assurance that bottled water is cleaner or safer than tap. In fact, an estimated 25 percent or more of bottled water is really just tap water in a bottle—sometimes further treated, sometimes not.
Of the 1,000 bottles tested, the majority proved to be relatively clean and pure. About 22 percent of the brands tested contained chemicals at levels above state health limits in at least one sample. If consumed over a long period of time, some of those contaminants could cause cancer or other health problems for people with weakened immune systems.
Though it's mostly safe, tap might at times also present issues—especially if you live in a rural community with a higher likelihood of pesticide runoff contamination, or if you get your water from a private (unregulated) well or live in an older home.
Under "right-to-know" provisions in the drinking water law, all tap suppliers must provide annual quality reports to their customers. You also can test your water yourself. Standard consumer test packages are available through large commercial labs at a relatively reasonable price. Call your state drinking-water program or the EPA Safe Drinking Water Hotline (800-426-4791) for a list of contacts.
Your water report will point out possible risks to health; fortunately, a home filter designed explicitly to strip contaminants will resolve most cases. If you want to take extra precautions, you should purchase filters certified by NSF International. These models are designed to filter out specific contaminants, so you can select one based on your needs.

Could the actual bottle pose a health risk?

Recent research suggests there might be cause for concern. Chemicals called phthalates, which are known to disrupt testosterone and other hormones, can leach into bottled water over time. One study found that water that had been stored for 10 weeks in plastic and in glass bottles containing phthalates, suggesting that the chemicals could be coming from the plastic cap or liner. Although there are regulatory standards limiting phthalates in tap, there are no legal limits in bottled water; the bottled-water industry waged a successful campaign opposing the FDA proposal to set a legal limit for these chemicals.

The Importance Of Water And Your Health

It sounds so simple. H20 - two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. This substance also known as water, is one of the most essential elements to health and is so important that your body actually has a specific drought management system in place to prevent dehydration and ensure your survival. Water might be everywhere, but one must never take it for granted.
Water makes up more than two thirds of human body weight, and without water, we would die in a few days. The human brain is made up of 95% water, blood is 82% and lungs 90%. A mere 2% drop in our body's water supply can trigger signs of dehydration: fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on smaller print, such as a computer screen. (Are you having trouble reading this? Drink up!) Mild dehydration is also one of the most common causes of daytime fatigue. An estimated seventy-five percent of Americans have mild, chronic dehydration. Pretty scary statistic for a developed country where water is readily available through the tap or bottle water.
Dad and sonWater is important to the mechanics of the human body. The body cannot work without it, just as a car cannot run without gas and oil. In fact, all the cell and organ functions that make up our entire anatomy and physiology depend on water for their functioning.

Water serves as a lubricant
Water serves as a lubricant in digestion and almost all other body processes. The water in our saliva helps facilitate chewing and swallowing, ensuring that food will slide easily down the esophagus. Water also lubricates our joints and cartilages and allows them to (pardon the pun) move more fluidly. When dehydrated, the body rations water away from the joints. Less lubrication equals greater friction and that can cause joint, knee and back pain potentially leading to injuries and arthritis. Even our eyeballs need plenty of lubrication to work well and remain healthy.

Water regulates body temperature
Our bodies can control over-heating through perspiration from sweat glands in the skin and from evaporation which produces a cooling effect. Blood is also routed into areas close to the surface of the skin where it can be cooled and then carried back to the interior of the body. Conversing in a cold environment, the skin maintains proper body temperature by shunting the blood away from the exterior surface thereby conserving heat within the body. The movement of water within our cellular systems also transports vital blood plasma which is 92% made of water. Blood plasma play a critical role in buffering the body’s pH, circulating antibodies from the immune system, and regulating osmotic balance which all helps to maintain proper body temperature.

Water removes harmful toxins from the body
Water helps our bodies remove toxins in many different ways. Water flushes toxins and waste from the body through urination and perspiration. Water helps reduce constipation and aids in bowel movements which ensures that wastes are removed quickly and regularly before they can become poisonous in the body. This waste buildup can occur in the body if dehydration becomes a regular occurrence and this can cause headaches, toxicity and illness. Drinking enough water will also lessen the burden on the kidneys and liver by flushing out waste products.

Water transports valuable nutrients to the body
Blood is about 92% water and it carries nutrients and oxygen throughout the body. Nutrients from the food we eat are broken down in the digestive system where they become water-soluble, which means they are dissolved in water. Water allows these nutrients to pass through the capillaries within the intestinal walls to the blood and circulatory system where the valuable nutrients and oxygen can be distributed throughout the body to all the cells and organs. In addition to the daily maintenance of our bodies, water also plays a key role in the prevention of disease. Drinking eight glasses of water daily can decrease the risk of colon cancer by 45%, bladder cancer by 50% and it can potentially even reduce the risk of breast cancer. And those are just a few examples! As you follow other links on our website, you can read more in depth about how water can aid in the prevention and cure of many types of diseases, ailments and disorders that affect the many systems of our bodies.

Drinking to Your Health
Since water is such an important component to our physiology, it would make sense that the quality of the water should be just as important as the quantity.

Learn About our Recommended Alkaline Ionized Kangen Water ™…
There is much more to consider in our quest for healthy water than a simple few parameters of water quality as reported by our community water department report.  Even with perfect knowledge of contaminants and other water quality attributes, what comes out the tap or out of the bottle is NOT what we would like it to be.
If we are realistic in our assessment, we must admit the water we actually consume is less in quality than we desire it to be.  Even when valiant effort is applied by consumers to improve upon the quality of water delivered to our homes and stores, by the few items of criteria in our list above, nearly every type of water falls short in one or more important attributes of water quality.
That is the question of the century, isn’t it?   And, that is the purpose of our website.  To explore ideas about water.  To propose considerations that should be made for what is healthy water.  To suggest things that consumers can do to obtain healthy water.  To provide information that is useful and practical in applying technology and approaches to improve the quality of water consumed.  To lead to a better water.  A healthy water.
Artificially alkaline water only neutralizes acidity where it has direct contact, like the stomach and upper bowel. When consumed daily, the upper bowel in particular becomes overly alkaline and side effects begin to appear. Most common are erratic heart behavior, hypertension, nervousness/anxiety, urinary tract and bladder infections, and stabbing side pains.
In nature, water flows down mountain streams and picks up alkaline minerals from rocks in the stream. Water systems that create naturally alkaline water work the same way. The water flows around a gravel bed to naturally pick up alkaline minerals. What’s the best way to determine if an alkaline water system creates alkalinity naturally or artificially? Naturally alkaline water systems are typically much larger than the artificial variety and they do not use electricity.

True Health is not only maintained through the water we consume but with all the water we use in our daily lives...water for drinking, cooking, personal care, general cleansing and sanitation. We invite you to join our happy human network of True Health and experience the many uses of Kangen Water.
Our goal is always to achieve optimal True Health ! The purpose of Kangen Water is to activate cells. It is now accepted that active oxygen is a cause of many illnesses and Kangen Water offers immediate benefits by removing unnecessary active oxygen from one's system because of its strong oxidation reduction potential (ORP). Most supermarket waters have a positive ORP while Kangen Water has a negative ORP. This is the type of water that offers True Health benefits!

Here is a quick description of our 5 waters:

Clean Water (TM) (pH of 7) - Effectively filters water by reducing unpleasant chlorine odors, lead, rust and other impurities. Especially recommended for use with medicines, supplements and the preparation of baby formula.
Kangen Water (TM) (pH 8.0 - 9.5) - Effects a significant reduction in oxidization. Therefore, providing healthy water that is great for drinking, for preparing tea and other healthy drinks and for cooking.
Strong Kangen Water (TM) (pH 11 and up) - Has a slightly higher pH than regular Kangen Water and is important for many uses. It is ideal for washing vegetables, meat and fish. It is also used for general cleaning of stove tops, cutting boards, knives and dishes; good for cleaning bathrooms and removing stubborn stains.
Acidic Water (pH 5.5 - 6.5) - Is used for enhanced health of one's skin; use in place of lotion. It tones and firms the skin while performing as an astringent. It is a natural beauty product.
Strong Acidic Water (pH 2.7 or less) - Is great for sanitation...washing hands, sterilizing kitchen-ware; use in restaurants, hospitals and other institutional type facilities.

Anti-Oxidizing

Kangen Water™ is an extremely potent anti-oxidant. Kangen Water™ acts as an essential component in maintaining optimal health because of its ability to neutralize free radicals. Having high levels of acidity in your body will literally corrode your tissues.
Free radicals are atoms or groups of atoms with an odd (unpaired) number of electrons and can be formed when oxygen interacts with certain molecules. Once formed these highly reactive radicals can start a chain reaction, like dominoes. Their chief danger comes from the damage they can do when they react with important cellular components such as DNA, or the cell membrane. Cells may function poorly or die if this occurs. To prevent free radical damage the body has a defense system of antioxidants.
Antioxidants are molecules which can safely interact with free radicals and terminate the chain reaction before vital molecules are damaged.

Alkalizing

Drinking alkaline water can help prevent disease and slows the aging process. Also it stops free radicals from forming, flushes toxins from cells and prevents toxins from accumulating, provides essential minerals, promotes normal blood flow and maintains normal blood pH. Alkaline water also is said to be better at hydrating the body because it penetrates cells more effectively. It helps to neutralize acids and remove toxins from the body.
Alkaline water has a higher pH level than normal tap water. The majority of the foods we eat create acid wastes in our system. Drinking alkaline water might maintain a optimal health and energy, particularly as acid water ((less than pH 7) is a hotbed of microorganisms, bacteria and viruses.

Hydrating

Kangen water has been around for many years in Japan and Korea. Kangen water is high in alkaline and forms small molecule clusters to hydrate every small molecule of your body, so your body becomes super hydrated by absorbing the nutrients and vitamins it really needs much better. The benefits are endless and you immediately start to feel better. The better you feel the more ionized water you want to drink.
Specially for athletes seeking to enhance their performance, super-hydration is a wonderful benefit to anyone wanting to improve their health.
Basically, here's the deal. For optimal health our blood should be slightly alkaline. When our blood is alkaline the body's tissues and fluids are oxygenated. Hormonally, the body is in a calm, rejuvenating state. However, this is quite rare due to our lifestyles. Processed foods, stress, toxins, poor sleep patterns, alcohol, sugar, lack of fresh vegetables, fruit and water, excess protein consumption all create an acidic state in the body. When the body is acidic, it ignites the flight or fight response, cortisol and Adrenalin are secreted. This stressed state depletes Oxygen and increase the toxin Carbon Dioxide in the body. When this occurs things that deteriorate health like viruses, bacteria's, yeasts, fungi, parasites and even cancer THRIVE.
Create an alkaline environment and you will have greater energy, greater mental focus and clarity, improved health and be able to get leaner faster.
That is the bottom line but that's not all.
Alkaline water is not the total solution. It is a supplement that will certainly help. If someone continues to consume toxic substances and does not increase consumption whole foods like fruits and vegetables then they will not experience a dramatic effect.

Detoxifying

We are all exposed to thousands of toxins and chemicals on a daily basis at work, in the home, through the air we breathe, our food and water supply, and through the use of pharmaceutical drugs. In addition, we are eating more sugar and processed foods than ever before in human history and regularly abuse our bodies with various stimulants and sedatives.
Drinking Kangen Water will help detoxify your colon by eliminating free radicals, which boosts your immunity to disease.
Kangen Water is also the only water product or technology that is approved for its medical benefits by the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare (Japanese equivalent of FDA in the US), particularly for the following 4 types of symptoms;
  • Abnormal gastrointestinal fermentation
  • Chronic diarrhea
  • Indigestion
  • Excess gastric acid

Top 10 Advantages of a Home-Based Business

As corporate downsizing continues to make news and the Internet makes telecommuting ever more productive, more and more entrepreneurs are discovering the benefits of running businesses out of their homes. If you are looking to get out of the rat race, to spend more time with family and friends, and to live a more balanced life, a home-based business may be the right decision for you.
Here are 10 reasons why it pays to work at home:
  1. Personal freedom. If you’re used to spending hours in traffic to and from work every day, some of the most exciting advantages to starting a home-based business are your new found freedom and the retrieval of lost time. The average American spends 348 hours each year commuting, according to the U.S. Federal Highway Administration. Suddenly with a home-based business, you have those extra hours to regain control of your personal life. Plus, there are no bosses, no dress code, no set work schedule, and no office politics to maneuver. All you need is personal drive, discipline, and time-management skills.
  2. You get to keep the money you make. It’s a simple principle: the harder you work, the more money you can make. Your earning potential is directly proportional to your performance, so you don’t have to wait for a raise or a promotion. You work harder, and you produce more. You’ll also save money on gas and food. Preparing lunch at home is more cost efficient and offers a nice break in your workday.
  3. Increased opportunity. With so many corporations and industries in a slump, starting your own home-based enterprise means you can create your own income-producing opportunities. Good job prospects can be scarce in some industries, and promotional opportunities within major companies are also shrinking.
  4. Less risk. Running a business from home takes much less startup cash than a freestanding business, or even a franchise location. And once your business is up and running, it’s cheaper and easier to maintain than a separate business location.
  5. Tax advantages. There are a number of tax advantages to having your home and office under one roof. You can deduct a part of your home’s operating and depreciation expenses on your home as business expenses. This can be a percentage of your mortgage, property taxes, insurance, utilities, and/or the expenses of household maintenance.
  6. More time for friends and family. This is especially important for parents of school-age children: you can see the kids off to school and on most days be home when they return. Also, if someone is sick, it’s easier to leave your home’s desk than one in someone else’s office.
  7. Less stress. It’s a little less stressful to juggle the demands of work and family when you know you can stay home to care for a sick child and generally set your own schedule.
  8. Opportunities for professional growth. Being your own boss gives you the chance to wear a lot of hats: sales director, marketing professional, strategist, business development manager, and more. Alkaline Water & Electrolytes

If you’ve done any research on electrolytes, you know that they are electrically charged mineral ions enhancing electrical conductivity.  Electrolytes enhance performance and improve stamina by maintaining optimal levels of electrical conductivity in the body.  Most people don’t realize that the right alkaline water is also full of electrolytes.
Electrolyte drinks were introduced in the 1960’s as a fast and effective way to replenish electrolytes during and after periods of extreme physical performance.  Over time, concerns about sodium content, sugars and additives also found in these drinks have caused many to look at other alternatives for electrolyte replacement.

Alkaline Water Alternative

Alkaline ionized water is produced through the process of electrolysis.  During electrolysis, the water receives an electrical charge which is picked up by the minerals found in the water.  Once the minerals are charged they become electrolytes.
Where sports drinks are loaded with sodium and potassium for electrolyte replacement, they are also loaded with sugar and/or artificial sweeteners, carbohydrates, artificial flavors, colors and other additives.  While a significant factor in improving performance and stamina is also hydration, the excess carbohydrates and sugars actually interfere with the body’s ability to absorb fluids.  Electrolytes are replenished at some level but effective hydration is lost.  The result is post-performance fatigue and increased recovery time.
Alkaline ionized water is 100% natural.  Impurities are filtered out but nothing is added in.  Alkalized water is pure water carrying electrically charged ions (electrolytes) created through ionization.  During the ionization process, the water molecules break  down and regroup into smaller structured clusters which actually increases hydration potential.
